Peking BBQ
Peking BBQ, located at 58-11 Woodside Ave, Flushing, NY 11377, is a beloved spot for those craving flavorful, affordable Chinese BBQ in the heart of Woodside. This no-frills establishment has built a reputation for serving generous portions of mouthwatering dishes, ideal for anyone seeking a satisfying meal without the need for a fancy atmosphere.
At Peking BBQ, the focus is squarely on the food. While the interior might not be the most polished, the taste of their offerings more than makes up for it. The restaurant specializes in BBQ-style chicken, ribs, and a variety of fried rice options. Their chicken, packed with flavor, tends to be on the saltier side, but it's a crowd favorite nonetheless. Many visitors especially recommend the chicken fried rice, noting it’s far superior to the pork version, which can sometimes be a bit dry due to it being pre-made for combos.
The portions here are generous, making it an excellent value for money. Whether you opt for takeout or dine-in, you’ll likely leave with leftovers. It’s not uncommon to see customers taking their meals home, as the serving sizes are substantial. The addition of their signature green salsa verde sauce is a must-try, providing a delicious kick to any dish. Just be mindful to double-check your order, as there have been occasional mix-ups with extras or sauces.
One important note: Peking BBQ is a cash-only establishment, so come prepared with cash for a smooth experience. While some have mentioned that the service may not be the fastest or most polished, the quality of the food keeps people coming back for more. Whether you’re a local or visiting the area, Peking BBQ offers a satisfying and wallet-friendly meal that’s sure to hit the spot.
Peking BBQ Reviews
I saw a review of this place on Instagram and finally made the trek. Since I live in Jackson Heights, Woodside is only a 25 mins walk from my nabe. This is yummy and affordable. The chicken was juicy and portions were generous. The salsa verde sauce is a good compliment to the entree. It was raining that day and an ordered a side of Chicken Soup. I couldn't finished my food due to the large serving. I was able to take it home and eat it the next day. This is a CASH only established.
This is a cash-only spot. While waiting for my takeout order of chicken and ribs, I noticed three separate customers return to the counter after picking up their food--one was missing an extra box of food, another thought they ordered five colas but were charged for two, and someone else paid for hot sauces but didn't receive any. Phew ~ always double check your order. As for the food, it was decent. The chicken had great flavor, though very salty. The ribs were just okay. To be fair, I reheated everything at home, so the texture wasn't ideal--pretty dry, but I expected that. Their green sauce is a MUST. It's $.50 cents per hot sauce. *ahem* they forgot my hot sauce as well. But luckily, I watched and learned so I checked upon receiving my order. The interior feels a bit dated and worn. I'll definitely give this place another try and dine in next time I'm in the area and craving some chicken.
Their ribs and chicken are delicious! And the portions are huge. I heard about them from Action Bronson's and finally got the chance to check them out. They are cash only. There were a lot of people waiting for their orders, so it took about 20 mins for mine to be done. There is an inside area with a couple places to sit, but I took my food to go. Highly recommend checking this place out!
I really need to explore Woodside more. How have I passed up Peking BBQ for so long? Sometimes you need your local Peruvian/Chinese eatery for a meal to hit the spot. Woodside is lucky enough to have Peking BBQ. This no frills, CASH ONLY, spot is worth every penny you scrounged up from the cup holder in your car. And while the menu looked amazing, it was a bit overwhelming. So much to choose from ranging from ribs and rotisserie chicken to lo mein and fried yucca. What do you choose?! The decision was made to go pretty straight forward with a #1. This had pork fried rice and 2 pieces of chicken. Picky with the type of chicken you eat (i.e dark/white meat, breast of drumstick)? Note there will be an up charge with your request. I'm not at all mad about this because I'm from the camp of "you get what you get and you don't get upset". Two nice sizes pieces of delicious, rotisserie chicken sat on a bed of super tasty pork fried rice. The kicker is their green sauce. Again, you're gonna be charged if you want extra. WORTH EVERY PENNY! We cut the heat with some sweet plantains. I wish they would have been a bit on the sweeter side, but all in all very good and made fresh. Ordering, is a breeze and service was quick. Great hidden gem in Woodside. Next time, I'm coming for the ribs!
You don't come here for the shiny fancy interior, or the best service. You come just for the food. Great price for what you got. I always order to go, just walk past the pick up window, where everyone standing, to small window before the seating area, where people line up to order. Cash only, and they will give you receipt/ ticket to pick up. And wait for your number to be called. Chicken can sometimes a tad salty, but packed with flavor. My favorite thing to get is their chicken fried rice, way better than pork fried rice . Looks like they pre made the pork version, which is understandable cause it goes in every combo, but it just became drier. Woodside staple, would definitely come back
